I received a violation letter about ___. I see a bunch of them in the neighborhood. Why are you harassing just me?

We are enforcing that throughout your neighborhood at the direction of your Board of Directors. Most likely your neighbor got a letter as well*. All homeowners in the community are held to the same standards.
